Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spring has arrived! And with it, April, May and June, 3 labrador retriever mix sisters who are currently 4 months old. April is apricot in color, and has a very calm, sweet personality and a very low energy level. She knows how to walk nicely on a leash, but needs help with her potty training. April spent time recently in a foster home with kids, cats, and other dogs, so we know she is good with other animals and children. She also rides well in a car. If you have been waiting for Spring to arrive to adopt a dog, don't wait any longer-- April is here!
We were told that her mom is a lab, and she came from a family that loved them but couldn't keep all of the pups. We don't know anything about the pups' dad, but from their looks we are guessing he's some kind of hound. Since we don't know for sure what breed or how big this gal will be when fully grown, only those willing to take pot luck should apply!
Because she is still a puppy, April needs a family where someone is home part or all day to complete her potty training and keep her socialized. Obedience training is also a requirement. You can meet April at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette, during normal business hours (847-251-6750). Although you will want to take her home on the spot, please know you will have to go through the application process first.
April's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heart worm preventative and spay.
