My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snowdrop: 2 yr old female white Exotic Shorthair Persian

This little girl, Snowdrop, is one of the four Persians surrendered to us from a deceased owner. Lily, the red Exotic Shorthair, has gone to her home already and there was not time to post her on our Persian page. The other older, thinner two, Buttercup and Summer, will likely need a couple more months to be ready for their new homes.

Snowdrop is the youngest of the four, and she arrived with the best weight and overall health. She has been spayed, had her teeth cleaned, and has been vaccinated and microchipped. Her matted coat has been combed out under anesthesia. You can see where she was shaved on her front legs as part of the surgery. Her blood panel shows she is a healthy young girl.

Snow is still a bit unsure about humans. She is a sweet girl and pulls towards you wanting attention but then is fearful wondering is she is safe with you. So her behavior currently varies some from friendly and relaxed to shy and scared. She needs a bit more time to establish her trust of humans and learn to be treasured. She’s a darling and coming right along.

We are looking for a home for her where she can take what time she needs to settle in and be the lovebug that is her birthright. If you want to carry her like a baby on the day you take her home, she is not the cat for you. If you want to love her and nurture her to build her confidence in humans, she will be a very rewarding little kitty to have. I doubt it will take very long.

She does not like to have her eyes washed. I rather think she may have some bad memories there, so that is better as a two-person job. She just tries to escape--she does not bite or scratch ever. She needs a lot of love and cuddles so she can learn it is not such a terrible thing. A gentle comb run through her shorthair is all she needs to keep it untangled and a wire brush is an effective, mutually pleasurable way to remove what she sheds. Exotic Shorthairs are called “the lazy man’s Persians”.

It would be best if her new family did not have dogs or young children. Let’s make it easy for her. Snow is not overly fond of other cats but can get along with a non dominant kitty if needed. She arrived in a crate with Lily and shared a room with her peaceably.

Exotic Shorthair Persians ( aka “Zots” ) are the most loving, adorable little darlings, and some family will be so lucky to have this little girls affection and company. For her part, she will be so grateful and happy to be in a home where she is loved to pieces and appreciated for her special persian nature.

Snowdrop eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz. (see purebredsplus.org for details)
