Naomi and Aubree's Story...
Naomi and Aubree are 3 yr old, female American short haired guinea pigs. They were surrendered by their previous owner because of time restrains with being a full time student. Naomi and Aubree are both very sweet. They are easy to hold, mellow, and calm. They don't run from you when trying to catch them. They have not been noisy at all at their foster home. Both guinea pigs handled their nails clipping with ease. Naomi likes to chew stuff tho. We have been giving her cardboard to chew on to get her to stop chewing on her cage. They sat perfectly on our laps and didn't figit at all. They are thankful for the veggies they are given. So far, they like romaine, green leaf, green peppers, love apples dearly, parsley, carrots (regular and baby), cucumbers, and oranges (not a big fan of oranges). We are currently switching them over to Oxbow pellets. They are great girls with plenty of love to give. Their adoption will include a Kaytee brand cage (47 1/2" long x 23 1/2" wide x 24" high), the cage has two shelves with ramps (the shelves have chew marks), a big water bottle, and a food dish. These two girls are bonded and must be adopted together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Naomi and Aubree, a Harleysville Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Harleysville, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Harleysville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harleysville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harleysville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harleysville paves the way for another one to be saved.
