Some of Langley’s Secrets Revealed
She has been with me about 8 weeks, since early April, and among her secrets that I have learned is that she is a backyard hunter! Curious about movements in the shrubbery, made mostly by lizards, she’ll dive right in. No damage to anything so far. She’s only managed to catch one that I’m aware of but then proceeded to just watch it. She’s amazingly fast catching and swallowing a gnat or a fly that crosses her vision.
Occasionally on walks, a moving squirrel or cat piques her interest but she doesn’t pull away to give chase. She did chase a squirrel when off leash one time. No way was she going to outrun a squirrel. Treed it, sorry to say, but I was laughing at her frustration. Pretty funny
I’ve never known a dog that was so excited to meet people. She calms quickly though. Kids love her and vice versa, letting them sit next to her and give her big hugs.
The habits that prospective forever families cherish - house trained, crate trained, leash trained - Langley has mastered. Actually she was all these when she came into my care. She barks at the times you would want your dog to bark. You’ll know when your mail is being delivered and when someone is coming up the walk.
She loves looking out the window. Since I don’t have low windows, I discovered she likes to look out front from my couch. She knows to stay off when I’m around and gets off when I come home before I’ve turned the key.
Langley and my 14 year old small dog have had zero problems. (He has to watch out for her wagging tail.) When we are walking Langley will growl at strange dogs and people approaching in the distance. But a friendly greeting from me will in most cases have her excited to meet someone new by the time they are near.
Langley is the best smelling dog I’ve every encountered! Truth is she doesn’t smell!
How great is that? And those extraordinarily beautiful ears. She is handsome!!! A friend calls her Sugarfoot because of her 4 white feet. Like most dogs, she is great. She is really a low maintenance dog who is a great companion. Your kindness will be returned with her love many times over.
