My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lanval: From Street Cat to Prince

This stunning boy is ready to go home. He is easy with people and doing so well. He has made the transition from a street cat to a princely young male.

Lanval is a 2 to 3 year old seal bicolor Ragdoll mix. He was actually trapped in Amarillo Texas and left at the shelter to die. Because he was so scared at the shelter, no one would take him, but we decided to give this boy a chance.

When he got to Merlin's Hope, he was very ill with a major upper respiratory illness. While I was taking care of him by giving him fluids and force-feeding him and medicating him, he decided that humans were actually not too bad, especially once he started feeling better and realize that we have really GOOD food here.

From that point, it has just been a series of milestones for this boy. He started out shying away from me to letting me sit beside him on the couch to letting him me pick him up and hug him to letting me cradle him in my arms and rub his belly.

Even though his progress is remarkable, he still needs to go to a home where the people understand that initially he may hide and be frightened. A quiet home without small children is required. He also needs a home with patient people as he needs to finish his transition from Street Cat to Prince.

If you are interested in adopting this amazing young boy, please contact us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is now in a foster home in Ennis, Texas.

KITTEN POLICIES APPLY. He must go to a home with another young cat or kitten or to a home with another young cat or kitten.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.
