Hey ya wanna play fetch? Boy do I love that game or any game with a ball. I'm Megu and aren't I the feisty one? I'm a Jack Russell Terrier mix, about 7 years old. It's been a little difficult learning English since my former owner spoke to me in Japanese but I'm getting there. I started out here a little frightened and nervous around the people here trying to give me love and attention. I am doing so much better now and have developed trust and have bonded with several volunteers. I'm a handsome little guy who loves to go on walks as well. Don't worry, I'll let you know when I want to go on a walk because I'll be wagging my tail like there's no tomorrow! I even know some basic commands, and yes, in English because I love to get treats. I'd really love to be your only furbaby because that would make me feel much more comfortable. I'm up to date on all vaccines and neutered. So if you're looking for a fun little guy who loves to play fetch and go for walks, and are willing to be patient with me, then I'm definitely the one for you!

About Bergen County Protect and Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Bergen County Protect & Rescue is a True No-Kill Animal Welfare Facility located in Cliffside Park. It was founded in 2012 by Eastern Bergen County's very own Animal Control Agency, Bergen County Humane Enforcement. The idea of creating a no-kill facility came to be when animal control officers were forced to take lost and abandoned animals to surrounding veterinarians and animals shelters with no knowledge of where their final destination would be. In most cases, the animals were treated and adopted out to loving homes while others were euthanized.

Inspired to help make a difference in the animal world today, BCP&R was created. Today, we are a 501c(3) non-profit, volunteer operated, no-kill animal shelter. We are grateful to all the rescue groups, veterinarians, shelters, volunteers and donors that helped make BCP&R what it has become today. Their guidance and support has empowered us greatly.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animals are available for adoption 7 days (12:00pm - 5:00pm) a week from our facility. Late night Wednesdays - open till 7pm.

Special events are posted on our website and Facebook pages.

Our Adoption Process...
