Blake's Story...
Blake is a fine 8 year old senior fellow who has spent too many days living alone in a yard. His coat is in great condition but he adapted to the weather by growing a coat that is a bit thicker than most Dober-guys and we suspect a bit of German Shepherd may also be driving this. He is of standard build and weighs about 72 pounds. Despite his outdoorsy former life he is housebroken, and will chew but not destroy the bedding we give him, blankets and such. He is learning about being indoors and gets very excited to be inside! His energy level is fairly high for a fellow his age. You can teach an old dog new tricks and while he does know his basics, he is very food motivated and that goes a long way to broadening his skills. And he loves the ladies! As in female dogs silly! He had a nice overnight stay recently with a very sweet, big red girl and they got along very well. He even rode in the jump-seat of their truck side by side like old friends. We have not tried him with male dogs. He would love to live in a home with cats (wait for it...) as he thinks they are yummy, so no cats please for Mr. Blake. He would do very well in a home with low to moderate activity and excitement.
