Jesse's Story...
My name is Jesse and I am now ready to find a new forever home. I was wandering the street with a serious eye injury when a nice lady took me in and reached out to PAWS for help. When I went to the PAWS vet it was obvious that my eye was not able to be saved and it needed to be removed. Now my eye is all healed up and the pain is gone. I am super sweet and loving and very beautiful although everyone thinks I am a different pattern they all agree that I am striking. I love people and am pretty laid back. Of course I need to be an indoor only cat because I have some understandable depth perception issues. If you are interested in meeting me please contact PAWS.
All PAWS-OK cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed or neutered and have been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV prior to being made available for adoption. The adoption fee is $70 (cash only). Some of our cats are available for adoption at the PetSmart on NW Expressway and Rockwell in OKC. Please check our website at pawsok.com and go to the "Adopt" tab to see a list of those currently available in the PetSmart Adoption Center. The first step in adoption is to complete an Adoption Request form which we use to help us match you with a cat or kitten that best meets your desires, experience and home environment. You can request one via e-mail at: pawsok@sbcglobal.net, download one on our website at www.pawsok.com or pick one up at our Adoption Center inside PetSmart. Thanks for adopting a rescued cat - they make the best pets!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jesse, a Oklahoma City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oklahoma City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oklahoma City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oklahoma City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oklahoma City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oklahoma City paves the way for another one to be saved.
