Charlene's Story...
Meet Charlene! We think Charlene is a Coonhound, and 2 to 3 years old. Charlene is one of four dogs and two cats that were left in crates at the entrance gate to our dog park last year. She obviously lived with many dogs, and she enjoys the company of other dogs. Charlene is sweeter than sugar and absolutely thrives on being loved on, holding no grudge against humans for abandoning her. She would make the best companion imaginable. Whoever chooses her will be some kind of lucky.

If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit www.carams.org for information on our Adoption Process and to fill out an online adoption application.

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlene, a Jackson Coonhound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound (Unknown Type) for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Coonhound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Coonhound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
