Billie Jo's Story...
Hello my name is Billie Jo! I was brought to the shelter as a stray, but the staff estimates my age to be around 3 years old. I'm a very sweet girl that is good with children and other animals. I'm a hypoallergenic breed which is great for my future owners because we shed less, but we do REQUIRE regular grooming every 1-3 months so that our fur does not become matted. When I was brought into the shelter my fur was so matted I had a difficult time walking, so the shelter is looking for a home that will provide excellent care. Hypoallergenic dogs are pretty rare in the shelter so if you seriously want to adopt me please fill out an adoption application at www.al-van.org. I will be spayed on Thursday April 28th and be able to go home April 30!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Billie Jo, a South Haven Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
