You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
'Chester' is an adorable senior male Hound mix who made his debut at the HSOV on February 10, 2016. This handsome gentleman has a tan short smooth coat with cream highlights, subtle black shading on his back, bowed front legs, a long tail, and a darling Hound face with soulful brown eyes and large floppy ears. 'Chester' has a sweet, loving disposition and has become a favorite of our kennel techs and volunteers. Everyone has fallen in love with this guy J 'Chester' loves attention and looks forward to walks and spending time with his fan club members. He was neutered on February 23, 2016 and was also given rabies vaccine. 'Chester' weighs 50-55 lbs. and could easily gain a few pounds to fill out his slim physique. He appears to be housebroken. These updated photos were taken on March 21, 2016, and it seems that 'Chester' keeps getting more handsome each time we see him! He was chosen to participate in an adoption event at Pet Supplies Plus in Vienna WV on March 19th, and we were soooo proud of him. 'Chester' was treated like a rock star and so many people were oohing and aawing over him as he pranced around the store wearing his cute pastel 'Adopt Me' bandana. He did extremely well with other dogs and crowds of people (including lots of small children). His volunteer date for the event brought 'Chester' back to the shelter with a brand new toy (a bright orange plush ball) that he had chosen himself. We took a short video of him carrying his new toy around in his mouth and posted it on our facebook page. We introduced 'Chester' to some of our free-roaming shelter mascot kitties when he was outdoors for photos, and he simply ignored them J However he does like to chase small animals so he should go to a home with NO small animals or cats just to be safe. This sweet boy truly deserves a home where he will be spoiled in the manner to which he would like to become accustomed.
