Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID
Sage is a German Shepherd/Samoyed mix to the best of our guessing ability; she is about 6 years old and she has had a rough life up to the point where she came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue.
This super sweet girl is gentle and has a very soft personality. She is shy and very reserved and will keep her distance with strangers until she feels comfortable with them. She needs time to warm up to new people but if you are willing to give her a bit she will prove to be totally worth it and loyal to a fault.
Sage is also smart and easy to live with. She is crate trained and will go in with the simple command of “go to bed”. Sage is dog door trained and walks great on a lead! She is not a digger, chewer or jumper! She stays off of furniture unless she is invited and has shown no signs of sleeping on the bed with her foster person. She rides great in the car and it very quiet unless something startles her in the backyard.
Good with other dogs; doing great with both the senior and younger dog in her foster home. Though dogs that are pushy overwhelm her and she will keep her distance. We do know that Sage is not good with cats and that she has killed chickens in the past.
Sage was pretty sick when we took her in and it was a long road to recovery but she pulled through with flying colors. To keep her healthy and strong she will need a good healthly diet (grain free and salmon protein), regular exercise and remember she has a double coat so will need regular brushing.
This beauty would do well with adults who will get her out and about, hikes would be fine but Sage is also happy with just a good daily walk. We do require no kids in Sages home under the age of 15 due to her being so shy. A quieter calm home environment would be best; but we want people for her that will continue to get her out and about to help break her out of her shyness.
Sage is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and recently had a dental.
