Shadow is a sweet mellowish fluffball of a dog
He weighs 49 pounds and is about 2.5 yrs old
Shadow was raised in one family since pup with other dogs and kids was never traumatized nor abused he's not in a shelter but still at his home until we can find a matching family he has lived in the same home since pup so we know every detail about him his temperament etc
I met Shadow and instantly fell in love he walked over to me I squatted down he laid his head on my leg so gentle and sweet what a true love bug charmer he is
Shadow has the cutest underbite that makes him look even sweeter
He looks much bigger in his pictures so you can view close up but he's fairly small with a narrow type build and narrowish head looking to be a Border Collie possibly purebred as he's solid black no other color on him
which is usually only found in purebreds
the black on his tounge could state that as well as I had spoken with a Golden Retriever rescuer
who stated that quit a few purebred Goldens have the black tounge and does not indicate it's from a mix of Chow
or other breed though of course we do not know the parents so cannot guarantee
He is super mellow for being a Border Collie but smart like one
loves to chase birds and critters but also loves to snuggle
loves his rear end scratched
He does not mind being picked up very gently and carefully
he's not very heavy to lift into the car
I did it myself
He felt a bit overwhelmed at the busy trail but seemed to like it
with more exposure he would like it more
totally NOT a waterdog
did not even get near the edge:)

He's not a treat food dog does not care
maybe fresh chicken or hot dogs but not even duck jerkey
He has a beautiful fluffy coat that is soft so you wanna keep petting him
From our 16 years of dog matching experience we feel this is a great dog for a young retired
person or couple looking for a sidekick to love cherish relax with
have him follow you around gardening
hang out on your lap on the couch
a walk to the mailbox
maybe a nature walk here and there
just a lot of love and bonding
patient and x tra loving folks ready to share not just your home but your heart
for the rest of his life
Shadow loves to be inside and is house trained but also likes roaming outside in a fenced yard
Shadow is very sweet he has never had any interest in dog toys as of yet but never too late to learn
He does do a few commands Sit ,lay down, shake
He likes to go on walks and car rides but doesn't jump in the car yet you have to help him in or teach him with patience how to jump in or get a ramp
He loves to sleep close or at the side of your bed maybe you would like him in your bed?
One great dog looking for that one down to earth unique family that knows how to appreciate and respect animals and has tons of love to give and receive from Shadow
Though he's a easy dog we prefer dog experienced folks over the age of 28 years
stable home owners that want a family member not just a dog
that have time and are home
Shadow would be fine with a larger mellow easy friendly female dog
he's fine being around male dogs too but prefer a fem dog if any at home
When we walked at the river trail he met a bloodhound mix x large female dog
seemed very interested and liked her
at his home he likes the older mellow female golden retriever best
so mellow energy easy going like he is
nothing hyper
adoption fee, references, fenced yard, pics of home,has never lived with cats so no cats please
