Obie's Story...
May the Force be With You (as it definitely was with this cat)! This sweet cat - named after the Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi - was found by a previous Tree House adopter, near her son’s school; and in an act of kindness she decided to scoop him up and take him in, worried that this friendly boy might stumble upon someone with less than good intentions. After searching for an owner, she contacted Tree House and got him enrolled in our Foster Program, through which we were able to admit him with their dedication and help to this lucky cat!! While in the foster home, Obie learned about interacting with children, though he didn’t seem very impressed by his minimal encounters with the family dog. This cutie does have a heart murmur which, though doesn’t require medication at this time, does mean he needs an attentive human roommate to follow up on his care. Overall, Obie is a very sweet, friendly, and chatty kitty, ready for a loving home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Obie, a Chicago Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
