My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MOLLY is a 10 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 61 pounds. Molly Is A Survivor -- We got Molly from a local shelter where she ended up after her owner took his own life by taking an overdose of medicine in a local hotel. He had also given Molly what should have been a lethal dose of the same medicine. Fortunately for Molly an employee doing a room check found the man and Molly and called an ambulance. Unfortunately it was too late for Molly's owner but she was still breathing. They rushed her to a local vet and had her stomach pumped out and gave her a Toxiban solution to help absorb the medicine. She stayed at the vet under observation for 3 days and has no apparent lasting effects from the medicine she was given. She was then transferred to the shelter who asked us if we could help as they did not think she would be adopted out as she is older and heartworm positive. Shelter manager says Molly is very social, loves to be outside laying in the sun and that she is a couch potato. Molly comes from the suburb and has no exposure to big cities. Placements is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area. Molly is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update: Molly McGee (Molly#3) is relaxing with our grandson and our resident lab, Cami. We have Zany (Lab Rescue alum) visiting and the three of them were having a ball chasing each other around the pool. If you want a laid back dog with a spark of energy, Molly is the girl for you. Her favorite thing is going for a ride in the car. As soon as I open the front door, she is sitting by the car door ready to go.

Update: Molly McGee (Molly#3) is having a great time playing with her ball. She loves to ride in the car and gets really excited when my grandchildren come to play. She is probably one of the best behaved fosters I have had.

Update:: Molly McGee (Molly#3) is enjoying relaxing on the deck in this beautiful weather. She has spent the last week playing with Betty (LRCP alumni Sage). She really misses her since she went home. Molly is such a wonderful foster. She doesn't have any bad habits, never been crated and has the run of the house. She loves to be with humans, but not a velcro dog. Just needs to know where you are. She is pretty active for an 11 year old. Does stairs beautifully, chases tennis balls, and loves marrow bones.

Update:: Molly moved to a new foster home while her foster family is unavailable. She quickly settled in and took a seat on the couch. She is an absolute sweetheart. She is a tail wagging, kiss giving, happy girl! She loves to be with her people and is well behaved in the house. She was given free run of the house last night and happily joined her foster mom in bed. When it was time to wake up, she asked for belly rubs. Molly would be perfect for someone looking for a calm, low key dog with enough energy to go for walks, hikes and playing ball. Access to water would be great as this girl loves to swim.

Update:: Molly has learned so much since she has come to stay with us.!She is learning to fetch a ball and actually bring it back. Doesn't always drop it, but we are making progress. She loves chewing on marrow bones and chew toys. When you walk in the door, she always greets you with something in her mouth. It could be a bone, a ball or just a piece of paper. Molly has started talking to me when she wants to play or when she wants her food. Molly met my grandchildren this weekend and really enjoyed them. She is still for children 10 and up, since she hasn't lived with younger children.

Update:: Magnificant Molly is checking in on this Fabulous Foster Friday. Sorry we are so late, but we were traveling from Virginia to Maryland. Boy does Molly love to ride in the car!! Everytime we go outside, she heads straight for the car. Molly LOVES to cuddle with you on the sofa and she likes being a lap dog. All Molly wants is someone to love her. Believe me, you will get so much more in return

See her at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbHh0DZWtzk .

Update:: Just want everyone to know that Molly is doing great, she is just a sweetheart. She was wonderful on the long car ride to Maryland. After a nice leisurely walk and dinner for the girls, I sat in my recliner to relax, the next thing I knew, Molly was in my lap. Yes a 61 pound lap dog. She loves to sleep on the dog bed or the sofa., she isn't choosy. She also loves to roam in the backyard.

Update:: Maggie is doing well at her fosters, she has explored the house and has no problem going up and down stairs. She is a good house guest and has settled in like she belongs. In one of her pictures you will see Molly is looking over all the applications trying to choose the perfect family she should choose.

Update:: Molly is very sweet and loves attention. She is easy going and loves to be with you and get attention She gets around well for a mature dog who has probably had a pretty rough life prior to coming to Lab Rescue She is easy going and like to go out for a leisurely walk then come inside to take a quick nap.
Good with other dogs, is now at her fosters with the resident dog and Maggie their other foster, she is doing well with both of them.. No cat history. Knows sit, come working on down. Okay on lead better with an Easy Walk Harness. Crate and house trained and has run of fosters house.
