Ajax's Story...
If you are looking for a loving companion who asks nothing more than to be by your side, then Ajax could be the perfect dog for you. Ajax is a beagle/basset mix who weighs 26 pounds and is approximately 8 years old. He is a sweet, affectionate, and laid-back boy who just wants to be loved! Ajax was found as a stray and apparently lived his previous life outside but he is learning how to be an inside dog. He is house trained, rides well in the car, likes to explore his backyard, and enjoys walking on a leash. Ajax has learned to love toys, and he loves to play with them! He would do well in a household with other dogs or he would be equally fine as the only dog, as long as he has people to love him. This boy will totally steal your heart, we consider him to be about as "perfect" as a dog can get.
Ajax is neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, current on trifexis, and he recently had a dental. You can fill out an application for him here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/. Once received, his foster mom will be in touch! He is fostered in Huntsville, AL, but he is available for adoption in your area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ajax, a Knoxville Basset Hound/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Beagle for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Basset Hound/Beagle dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Beagle breeders who help with Basset Hound/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
