Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
To know BUGSY is to absolutely love him! His goofball personality keeps a smile on the face of everyone he meets. His wrinkly face and body make it impossible not to want to squeeze and cuddle him. BUGSY is a year to 18 months old and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He lives in a foster home with a large adult dog, a medium senior dog, and 2 small senior dogs. He gets along with everyone. He loves to play with other pups. He is such a happy go lucky guy that he can annoy another dog. However, he doesn't mean to do this and takes correction well from both dogs and humans. The video attached shows BUGSY visiting a friends home for the first time. The video was taken the first day he arrived. He had never met the other dogs in the home prior to this visit. BUGSY knows not to potty in his foster home and sleeps in bed with his foster mom every night. This lucky guy also gets to go to work with her often since she works at a training and boarding facility. BUGSY loves everyone he meets and adores car rides. He is a perfect passenger. He also enjoys playing fetch. He hasn't met any kitty cats, but he is so good with small dogs that we can't imagine him not liking cats as well. BUGSY is ready to bring his silly sweet personality to his forever family!
BUGSY is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
