Johnny Walker's Story...
Johnny Walker's Story...
Johnny Walker is a beautiful purebred Walker hound who's happy to stay right where you put him if the fence is tall enough, the shade full enough and the water cool and deep. Not a digger or climber. He's fully vetted, probably six or seven years old, heartworm negative, micro-chipped and crate trained. Johnny does well with females but not so great with males and definitely no cats. Fine with children of all ages but probably no toddlers since he's very tall for a Walker and well over eighty pounds. He was in terrible shape when we rescued him (from north Houston) and his breeder/owner is unknown.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find the best homes available for our dogs and cats. Adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and free of disease (including heartworms) prior to adoption. Dogs receive basic obedience training as well as socialization through the Etosha Foster Care Program. We promote state-wide educational events which focus on the importance of spaying or neutering, humane treatment for all animals, and workshops to teach children the basics of responsible pet ownership. Etosha is dedicated to maintaining a high success rate (about ninety-five percent) for placing companion animals in forever homes. We achieve this by carefully screening prospective adopters and knowing which dogs or cats are most likely to be a good match for them.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We ask that visitors first call to make an appointment to come to the shelter to meet our animals at 830-401-0150.
Our Adoption Process...
Adopters must first fill out an adoption application, available on our website at http://www.etosha-rescue.org/adoption.html. We check references and do a home visit. If everything checks out we require signature on an adoption contract and an adoption fee.
