Pinocchio's Story...
Hello my name is Pinocchio! I'm a 3 year old neutered male cat that was brought to the shelter on 1-11-16 as an owner surrender because my owner got pregnant and didn't want me around anymore. On intake I needed obvious medical attention, but for my left eye they were too late. I have a cloudy eye that I can see shadows out of, but I can't fully see everything. I also had a possible previous fracture to my jaw that was never taken care of so my tongue still hangs out. My mouth has healed, but I will probably always have a bit of my tongue stick out at you. I'm a wonderful family cat that is calm, but loves attention. I haven't been around other cats prior to being brought to the shelter so I don't like them very much, but I could eventually get used to a dog. Would you be willing to take care of me forever?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pinocchio, a South Haven Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
