My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Claude is a one-year-old, three-and-a -pound Chihuahua who is looking for his forever home. Claude is extremely affectionate and loves to be held and cuddled; in fact, the thing he enjoys most is being with his person. He is very playful and gets along well with all dogs. He thrives in the company of children, although he needs to be handled carefully since he is so small. He has been neutered, is up-to-date on his shots, and just had a dental cleaning. He knows how to use pee pee pads and also will go outside, and is almost house-trained but is still learning. He lives in a foster home with several other dogs and is a very social boy.

Claude had a rough start in life and was neglected as a puppy. While this has not affected his personality and he still loves and trusts people, he does have a couple of health issues. He is unsteady on his feet and walks with a sideways gait. However, this does not slow him down, and he gets around just fine and with great speed! Because he does have balance issues, he sometimes falls and can have trouble negotiating stairs. We rescued him, his brother and mom from the shelter and they all had a common non-contagious skin condition that has been treated and the entire little family is now healthy and happy after a couple of months of good care, medication and food. Claude would make a wonderful companion to someone who wants a very small dog with a big heart!
