Grant's Story...
Grant is a super friendly 3 year old lab mix. He loves going for walks and enjoying the sunshine. His favorite treat is anything with peanut butter although he will never turn down food. He is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via All Paws transport services upon adoption. His adoption fee is $400 and includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, and transport costs.

Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Second Chances is a rescue organization based out of Pontotoc, Mississippi which adopts dogs and puppies all over the Northeastern United States. All of our dogs and puppies are kept in private foster homes in Mississippi until adopted. Our dogs are NEVER in a facility.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grant, a Kittery Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever for sale in Kittery, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Kittery.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kittery already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kittery breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kittery paves the way for another one to be saved.
