HERCULES's Story...
An adoption application on HERCULES can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

HERCULES is the best puppy! He is laid back, cuddly, and smart. As of 4/28/16 he is 14 weeks old. He already knows "sit" and "paw." He also hasn't had an accident in his foster home in a couple weeks! HERCULES lives in a foster home with multiple other dogs and kitty cats so he is way ahead of the socialization curve. His foster mom works at a training/ boarding facility so lucky HERCULES gets to tag along with her when she goes to work. He hangs out in the lobby or the break room with other employees' pups. Everyone who meets this guy adores him. If you are a family searching for a huge hunk of love, he will make you forever happy with an endless supply of puppy kisses!

HERCULES is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $475 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the New England area.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HERCULES, a Parsippany Newfoundland/Springer Spaniel puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland/Springer Spaniel for sale in Parsippany, or seeking a Newfoundland/Springer Spaniel puppy from a breeder in Parsippany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parsippany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parsippany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland/Springer Spaniel breeders who help with Newfoundland/Springer Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parsippany paves the way for another one to be saved.
