This is Spud, a 1.5 y/o English bulldog/staffy mix. Weighing in at only 50lbs this little-baked potato will steal your heart! Spud would love a family who is active! He wants to go for long walks, meet new dogs and of course get fed lots of treats! Help spud find his forever family!

He will need a lot of exercise as he is high energy. If he has another dog to play with, he will need less exercise, but will still need daily walks.

He is very good with other dogs and very sweet with people.

But there are a couple if things he needs to work on. He needs more work with house training. He is crate trained and does not potty excessive in the house, but he does have accidents. He does not lift his leg, so he is not marking in the house which is good. He is very food motivated, so training can be easy. But he is also stubborn like a typical bulldog.

He walks well on leash when using the right collar. When using a prong collar, he listens really well.If he is bored, he will sometimes tug on the leash wanting to play, but we have been working on that and he does not do it as much.  He does bark when you first leave (for like 5 mins or less) but not excessively throughout the day.

He has been fantastic with every dog he’s has met. And is just the sweetest.  He leans up against people when they want to pet him and does great in a crazy environment with lots of people. People usually stop and stare at him because of his giant head ! He does jump, so I would suggest a home without small children.

About Designer Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small scale dog rescue located in Los Angeles dedicated to saving “designer breed dogs”, also known as “mutts” from the Los Angeles shelter system. What’s funny about the term “designer” dog breeds is that these dogs are all just adorable (but trendy) mutts! Remember that shelters are full of adorable mutts desperately in need of homes. Adoption is the best option! And we are here to help these mutts transition from shelter life and into forever homes.

Mission statement ” To rescue unwanted dogs from the Los Angeles shelters and provide education for the misunderstood “mutt”, To bring awareness to the growing problem of backyard breeders producing “designer dog” breeds without a thought to the health of the animal or the same types of mixed breeds sitting in the shelter system”

Our rescue follows the no-kill policy and is operated solely by volunteers with an emphasis on foster homes, until we are able to have a physical rescue facility.

We are located in the San Fernando Valley and mostly rescue from the East valley animal shelter. We are just starting out and so we have only a few dogs available at one time. If you are interested in a certain breed, I can place you on a list for that breed and notify you when that breed becomes available.

We are 501(c)3! All Donations are Tax Deductible!

We run 100% on donations from our community, and could not do this without you!

We give back to our community through Trap, neuter, and release programs for the feral cats in our area and hope to expand our spay and neuter programs as well. Your donation will go directly to the care for animals. We greatly appreciate every donations, whether it is time or money.

We cannot function without community support. While most groups will forget about the most important volunteer, we are here to thank every one of you who helps spread our message. Tell your friends and family about us so that we can make Los Angeles No kill. Ask them to volunteer their time, or skip that morning coffee and donate to our great cause! Every little bit helps and we appreciate it all!

Thank you for your support!
