It’s the hard knocks life for us…

Sweet siblings Miney and Mo have had a rough road and may feel as if it’s the hard knocks life for them.

Miney and Mo came to the shelter back in 2012 as kittens and were adopted together by a lovely lady. They were quite happy in their new home and accepted their new dad when mom got married. With dad in the military, moves became inevitable and the relocation to Hawaii and its stringent four month quarantine period affected both cats severely. Because of the trauma of their ordeal, they lost their trust and became very fearful. Once back in California, their once loving family made the decision to relinquish them.

It took some time, but after getting lots of TLC from staff and volunteers, Miney and Mo blossomed into the loving felines that we had known. Mo would come running when a volunteer would enter the cat community room and Miney would squeak for attention and pets. Both were very attentive and loving to people.

At the end of November, a very nice couple came in to meet Inga. While they were there, they fell for Miney and Mo and adopted all three cats. Unfortunately, Mo and their dog did not get along and they felt that the best thing to do was to relinquish Miney and Mo for their well-being and the sake of their dog. (Inga is fine with the dog)

So, Miney and Mo are back at the shelter – a little confused, a little scared and unsure of their future. Staff and volunteers are working with them to help them gain back the trust and confidence we know lurks beneath the layer of fear so that they will once again blossom into the loving, playful cats that we know they can be.

It has been the hard knocks life for these gentle souls and they need a cat savvy family in a quieter environment who will be willing to take the time to let them adjust and gain confidence and trust in their new home and new family. They may be a bit of a project, but trust us – they are well worth it! When they do understand that you love them, they love you right back and are very devoted feline companions.

Do you have room in your heart and home to turn their hard knocks life into one of happiness and joy? If you do, Miney and Mo are ready for you!

About PAWS of Coronado

About Our Rescue Group...

Since 2003 PAWS of Coronado has worked with the Coronado Animal Care Facility to provide shelter and find homes for orphaned cats, kittens and dogs relinquished by their guardians, stray or abandoned cats, and cats rescued from abuse or neglect.

We are a small grass roots organization committed to 100 percent placement of adoptable animals and envision a time when every friendly, healthy, homeless animal in our community can be cared for until a new family is found.

Our cats are extremely socialized, relaxed, trusting and loving in large part to our cat petting program. Our dogs are equally socialized and trained due to the dog walking program. The caring hands and hearts of the volunteers and ACF staff help the animals thrive even in a facility environment.

You can become involved with PAWS of Coronado as a volunteer or as a member (there are a variety of levels of annual dues) or by contributing a memorial plaque for the Memorial Wall at the Coronado Animal Care Facility.
