Hi, my name is Duke Evers. My Daddy recently had some really big changes in his life and, as a result, he had to make the really difficult decision to have my "brother", Rocky Evers, and I go with the wonderful people from BTRFL. While I miss my original family, the people I am living with now in my foster home are really great. I also get to spend time with their other foster dog and they have a terrific yard to hang outside in.
I am a laid back, happy-go-lucky kind of guy. I am content to hang on the couch or in bed with Rocky and my foster family, and I really enjoy lounging outside so a fenced yard would be a plus but not an absolute necessity. I'm a little on the more mature side having just turned 12 years old but I still have a lot of playfulness in me, especially when playing tug o' war with Rocky. My vet said that I have maturing cataracts but it doesn't slow me down one bit. I also need to stay on special food to keep my tummy feeling good. I ride well in a car and am good on a leash. If I need to go outside to go potty, I will definitely let you know.
I have spent almost my entire life with Rocky so we really need to stay together in a forever home. If you are looking for a couple of real sweethearts who just want to be loved, we are your guys!!
Duke just turned 12 years old and weighs about 24 pounds. Rocky is 9 years old and weighs about 21 pounds. They are a bonded pair so they will need to be adopted together.
If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website to learn about our adoption process and to fill out an application. www.btrfl.org
Because we have Boston Terriers of all ages, we have a sliding scale for adoption fees generally ranging from $200 to $600 based on the age and health of the dog. Our fees cover vetting costs, shelter fees, fuel for transport, copying and printing of contracts and paperwork, our website presence, food, boarding, behavioral training and additional medical care. While the dog you adopt may not require all of these things, many other dogs in our system do. By adopting from Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, you are not saving just one life, you are helping to save others as well.
