My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated bio 4-24-16 Daisy is a very, very sweet, adorable 2 year old yorkie. She weighs only 5.5 pounds. Daisy is being fostered in Leesburg, FL. Daisy's adoption fee is $495 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Daisy by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.
Daisy had her surgery and is recovering nicely from her hind leg amputation. She is getting around just great. Three legs are working for her as well as four ever did. She is still a little sore and not yet feeling great, but she has to be feeling better than she did when she had that horribly mangled leg just hanging there. Once her hair grows back in and maybe even gets a little longer than usual on her left hind end, it is likely no one will even know there is a leg missing.

She is about the sweetest dog ever. Her disposition and temperament are amazing. She has yet to bark, whine, or have any behavioral issues at all. She pretty much ignores the other dog in the home, but has never show a bit of aggression towards them. She only wants to be held, cuddled, and loved by her foster mom and dad. She likes to be in her crate which is a good place for her to rest and recover. She is mostly house trained and does her business outside, however if not taken out in time she will have accidents in the house.

Her foster mom and dad are not yet sure of the kind of forever home Daisy will need. Her real personality has probably not yet emerged, but once she is recovered they will know more about what she needs in a forever family. Her foster parents do know that she would not enjoy young children under the age of 14. She may not be a good playmate for another dog since they have not seen her show any interest in playing or in other dogs, but that may change.

Daisy will have her stitches out in two weeks. Until then she will continue to recover and her foster parents will continue to get to know the real Daisy. Daisy's surgery was expensive, please consider making a donation to Daisy. Let's show her how much we all care. More on Daisy coming soon.
