Jake's Story...
Jake is a lively, intelligent 7 year old Cairn Terrier. He is a hardy little guy who needs a strong minded human to bring out his fullest potential. Jake is sociable, loves going places in the car, for walks, and for play dates with other dogs. Jake gets along well with older children. He will make someone a wonderful companion to go on walks about town or exploring beaches or trails.

(An adoption donation of $300 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email CHEW Dog Rescue at pawsontherun@gmail.com and ask for the adoption application form. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Gig Harbor Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
