Chiquita-Fajita - Columbus, OH's Story...
Hi, my name is Chiquita-Fajita, and I am patiently waiting with my foster parents until I can be united with my forever family. At 10 years old, my fur is black / white, and I weigh approximately 11 pounds. I am not sure why I was left behind in my former owner's condo when they moved, but I am very grateful that I was rescued and placed in a loving foster home. However, I will be so happy when I can finally settle in one place for the rest of my life with someone who will truly love me as their own.

I am a little eccentric especially when I first entered foster care because my foster mom used to catch me staring into space quite often. However, now that I am feeling more comfortable, I rarely find myself doing this anymore. My favorite thing in the whole world is finding toys or cardboard boxes on the floor and shredding them into a thousand pieces. I also enjoy sleeping in my bed and am perfectly content laying by myself if you are busy. Of course, I would never turn down being petted and receiving your love and affection.

My foster mom is working with me on learning to use potty pads inside because she is unable to take me outside although I do go very quickly when I am allowed outside. My former owners did not work with me at all on potty training, and at 10 years old, I am having trouble learning exactly where and when I should go. Perhaps, I would do better with being taught to go outside, but currently, my foster mom cannot take me as frequently as I need. If I could just master this one area, I could be a really great companion for you.

I am very good with meeting new people and being friendly with everyone. Also, I do well with other dogs, but I am sometimes intimidated by more dominant personalities. I will always let others take my spot or my treats if they want, and I never act aggressively. Overall, I prefer to lay peacefully instead of playing with others and am very low energy. Really, the only time I perk up is when you get out a treat or it's dinner time!

I am currently in good health for my age with a slightly chubby physique, and I am up to date on my vaccinations, microchipped, and had a dental cleaning. I enjoy going outside for walks as well (as long as it is not too cold or wet!!). My current temporary home is in Columbus, OH, but my foster mom has promised me that she will transport me to my new forever home.

Now that I have told you a little about myself, please contact my foster family and tell them a little bit about you! I hope that I will be able to meet you soon and become a valued member of your family. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to be part of your life!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chiquita-Fajita - Columbus, OH, a Dayton Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Dayton, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Dayton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dayton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dayton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dayton paves the way for another one to be saved.
