My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Cairn Terrier/Norfolk Terrier mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog with that additional flair. They're famous for their great personalities and extremely loving and snuggly ways. Terriers are also known to love being a part of a family...so great with their people and other gentle dogs. And since they require a certain amount of exercise (like all dogs) and love being with their people...if a walk or hike is the order of the day - count them in! Duck would be overjoyed cruising the neighborhood paths and trails...and then crashing on the couch snuggling close to his favorite humans and canines.

Duck is an absolutely adorable and sweet guy who deserves a great forever home. Duck appears to be a non-shedding or very lightly shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy and matt-free. As the old hair of his shelter days grows out, Duck's coat will grow in showing off the stunning chestnut and golds and less likely to shed.

Duck's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. While he is initially timid and might need a bit of time and loving to become his sweet and engaging self...once comfortable Duck is overjoyed to see you. His tail will start the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Duck goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Duck is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Terrier breed.

At approximately 4 - 5 years old and just about 15 lbs, Duck is very open to leaving behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. Duck has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Duck in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's very pleasant and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member.

Duck would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable guy who is searching for love. He also would do well in a mellow family setting with older and very gentle kids. Duck doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy his canine relationships with very kind and gentle dogs.

Duck will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 5/4/16 or thereabouts. If interested in this snuggly and sweet pup, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
