Rudy and his brother Willie came to ARF as brothers who were bonded.  They have been together since they were puppies, and they are now 7 1/2 years old, so naturally they are used to each other's company.  But since they have been with ARF for a while, they are learning to be more independent. Their entire world changed when they were relinquished by an owner whose own world had fallen apart, so it took some time for Rudy and Willie to adjust.  But they shouldn't have to spend the rest of their lives without homes, and we believe now that they could go to separate homes.  They have been altered and had their shots and seem very healthy.  They love to go for walks when volunteers can take them.  They like children but don't prefer to be picked up.  Willie and Rudy have become a little chubby, to put it mildly, and could use some weight-control food. They probably weigh 25 pounds now! Rudy and Willie have attended adoptathons and birthday parties for children, and though they did fine and gave their best "give me a second chance" look, they didn't get adopted.  And they wait.  Will someone get these small dogs into a loving home?

Come Meet Our Pets...

Arrangements for meeting pets are by appointment and depend on availability of the foster parent or an ARF member.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins with an application. Every effort is made to match pets with adopters to find a good fit for both, for the goal is a lifetime of love and companionship. Adoption fees depend upon the amount of vet care needed for the individual pet; all pets must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on shots. An adoption contract promises continued care and provision for the pet being adopted.
