Agent 009 is a very handsome 1 year old beagle x doxie, about 15 lbs.  Came to us in April from a shelter in Modesto County where we once took in 7 beagle siblings - all adopted and in great homes now.  We think they were a previous litter of Agent 009's mom, Agent 008. That group of dogs was named Agents 001-007, so that's how our current family got their names.

He and his family (mom Agent 008 and two now adopted siblings, Agent 010 and Agent 011) were rescued from a hoarding situation. The mom is very outgoing, but her kids are shy and seem unused to people. 009 has been here some months now and is still a little bit nervous, and barks at strangers. However, he's not at all aggressive, and is still improving. He is getting more and more comfortable with new people. His two equally shy siblings have been doing well in their new homes.

He seems like a nice, loyal, and happy little dog. Treats and lots of playtime have softened him up! Once he gets comfortable with someone he is very loving. He knows some commands and has learned to walk on a leash. Unknown if he's housetrained, though he hasn't had any accidents when in the rescue's house. He hasn't been a big territory marker.

He really loves his mom. He loves dogs and likes playing with them. His best friends here are beagle Waffles and pekignese Corky. Waffles can be shy and Corky often doesn't like other dogs, but they both love Agent 009. He thinks that every dog is his friend. We often get prospective adopters who are looking for a young dog that will encourage their older dog to play more. Agent 009 would be great for that.

He will be a very entertaining and devoted companion in his future home!

Pls email your ap! It will help him a lot to have another nice doggie in his furever home!

About Beagles and Buddies

About Our Rescue Group...

Please visit our website before emailing... most everything about the adoption process is answered!

We hope this material will help you decide if a Beagles & Buddies canine companion should be in your future. If you're considering a "rescued companion", you will need to know that all dogs that enter our rescue are screened before they are available for adoption. They are checked for temperament problems, given all required vaccines, spayed or neutered and are socialized. A donation is requested as well as a signed adoption contract.

Donations range from $150 - $750 depending on the age and breed. We support our non-profit and no-kill sanctuary from funds generated by these donations, therefore, puppy and pure-bred donations, which are higher, help keep the older, less adoptable dogs from harms way. Our older dogs often require dental care, blood work and other attention. We also have a great track record at finding our older canine companions great homes, as well!

We are looking for serious people and families who will be responsible canine companion adopters; which means making the dog part of your family, providing inside/outside homes, quality food, veterinary care, attending training classes and making a commitment to the dog for the rest of its' life, through good times and bad.

If you fit this description, we look forward to helping you find a canine companion suitable for your family - because that's what we do best!

Beagles & Buddies is a no-kill sanctuary for unwanted or abandoned dogs, established in 1992 as the official breed rescue for Beagles and other hound dogs.

We specialize in purebred and mixed Beagles, but we also rescue Basset, Blue and Red Tick, Plott, Black and Tans, Tree Walker Coon Hounds, Dachshunds, and (mostly small) dogs of other breeds.

The kennel is a member of H.A.R.T. a nonprofit animal welfare and social service agency serving Southern California.

Beagles & Buddies volunteers work tirelessly to find secure, happy new homes for as many of the resident dogs as possible.
