Elvis's Story...
More photos of Elvis coming soon but this sweet senior boy is in need of a home. He was an owner give up to a local shelter because he was no longer wanted. He is vaccinated, wormed, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is shy at first but warms up nicely. Elvis also had a dental once with us.
Our normal adoption fee is $300 but this can be reduced some due to his age. He is around 12 years old. He is still in New Orleans with our rescue but can be transported up to Putnam, CT for an additional $185 using Rescue Road Trips.
We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. Please email QueenB534@aol.com for more information.

From Mike, Elvis' foster Dad:

He's a sweet boy who is always smiling. He loves taking long walks and is still as sprightly as a young boy. When he thinks I'm not looking he likes to sneak up onto my bed for a nap but is otherwise a well mannered gentleman. When getting ready for walks he gets super excited and starts howling and hopping around.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis, a Boston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Boston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
