  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female

Spirit was found abandoned and wandering a on a street.  A nice person brought her to PetSmart, who contacted us. Most of the skin on her back end was missing and we have no idea what happened to her. She is all healed and beautiful now. She is very shy at first, but once she trusts you, she is 100 percent love bug!

She is about 1 1/2 yrs old and weighs 38 lbs., short haired, hair color blends of brown, blond, and black.  She is full of life, good natured and just needs patience and T.L.C.until she gets acquainted. Spirit may be best in a home without small children who might startle her and it may be wise for slow introductions to men since she's mostly been with women. She is crate trained, behaves well in the house and likes to play with her foster pals. She is extremely loving.  The second picture shows her on her graduation day of board/training of 30 days.  She got more confident and learned some commands.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
