SHIRLEY's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

SHIRLEY's Story...
This little terrier blend (it's even been suggested she's a coated Xoloitzcuintle, aka Mexican Hairless) couldn't be a better companion. It's estimated she's between 4 and 7 years old - she has good teeth but her front incisors are heavily worn from having lived primarily in a crate before entering our foster program. She loves to sit in your lap and has warmed up to a range of men and women and other dogs since being in foster care and learning she can trust people.
Shirley isn't a fan of chickens or other livestock animals (maybe she's too big a fan), and would enjoy chasing cats if given the opportunity, though she's not been tested with dog-savvy house cats.
She does well on leash and is house trained. She is current on vaccinations and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $125.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SHIRLEY, a Hurricane Chihuahua/Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless for sale in Hurricane, or seeking a Chihuahua/Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless dog from a breeder in Hurricane.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hurricane already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hurricane breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless breeders who help with Chihuahua/Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hurricane paves the way for another one to be saved.
