My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My friends call me Little Girl. I am a 6 year old beagle mix with a curvy figure. My family could no longer care for me so Midwest BREW welcomed me into their rescue. I am now with my foster parents and doing very well. I get along well with the other 4 beagles, although at first I was picking on the little female. That only lasted a couple of days. I like the boys just fine.
The first thing I will tell you about myself is that I am a very happy girl! Although I am not hyper, I am very playful. My foster mom thinks I may not have had toys in the past so I am just learning how to play with them. I picked up one for the first time yesterday. I had so much fun throwing it in the air! I love chewing on elk antlers too.
You may think because I have a few extra pounds that I am a lazy girl but nothing could be further from the truth. I have never had a fenced yard before so it is very fun running and playing with the other beagles in foster mommy’s fenced in yard. I hop like a bunny and foster mommy always smiles. I also like to lie in the shade and watch the critters about me…the birds flying and the squirrels in the trees. I so hope my new forever home to have a fenced yard!
My very favorite part of the day is my walk…oh how fun! I can walk a couple of miles at a time. My foster mom says I pull but I am just in a hurry to get to that next good smell. My foster parents are working on my weight. I weigh 50 lbs. so I am on a strict diet with my premium food and very few treats.I really should be about 40 lbs. so I still have a ways to go but I know you will help me get there.
I like to get on the couch and lie around while my foster parents are at work. I am a good girl so I can be left out all day. I have not chewed up anything and I do not dig holes. I love, love, love kids. I had my own kid from the time I was a puppy until now. She was 10 when she got me. Oh how I miss her.
I am a smart girl and I am house trained. I know how to use the doggie door. I am a girly girl and love my toe nails painted and like to play dress up. I am not real fond of mycrate. I am being fed in it so I do not steal the other beagles’ food. I am a beagle after all and love my food.
I lie in foster parent’s bed while they watchTV each evening but when it is time to go to sleep they make me get off the bed. Since I don’t like my crate foster mommy tells me to go to bed and I get off her bed and lie beside her on a dog bed. I like it much better than the crate.
I am not real fond of car rides as my previous family never took me on rides so they scare me a little. But with time I will get better.
I have a deep voice and you will know if there is an intruder or if the mailman brought you mail. I’m not a big barker any other time but am a good watch dog.
I am very sweet, I love to be petted and I will make you smile. Please give me a chance to love my way into your heart.
Love, Little Girl
