Reuben is a male Shih Tzu mix approximately 3 years old. He has a long, soft handsome coat of gray and white that is non-shedding. Reuben is a solid bigger boy weighing 18 pounds full grown. He is very quiet and well-mannered inside the home. Reuben wants to please his humans and tries hard to understand what you want. He will come when called and especially likes when you get down on his level for snuggles and love. Reuben is gently playful and absolutely excellent with all other dogs, big and small. He gets along readily with any dogs he meets and will adjust his behavior according to the other dog's desires. If they want to play, he will happily romp around and be silly. If the other dog just wants to hang out, Reuben will also hang out or else entertain himself on his own. Reuben walks easily on leash with a harness and has a nice amount of energy for longer walks, although he is not hyper in the least. He is robust and healthy with a heart of gold. We think Reuben has had a tough life prior to being rescued due to the state of neglect he was in and his hesitant nature with people he doesn't know. Reuben is a gentle soul, and he will stick close to those he knows in public. He gets nervous when being picked up as if he isn't sure if your intentions are good. He prefers coming up to you and snuggling in close to your side for comfort and loving. He responds beautifully to those he knows and a kind touch. Reuben has discovered he loves treats and will take them carefully from your hand as if you are giving him precious gold. He is a sweetheart and will most likely bond very closely with his new forever family. He is going to be loyal and devoted to those who show him kindness and care. He will thrive in a quieter home without a lot of commotion. Reuben was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where he was brought in stray. He is ready for his new future and loving forever home today!
Reuben’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
Reuben is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Sharon and is ready for his forever home.
