Are you an introvert? Janis is the perfect dog for you!

Janis is a sweet, cuddly year-old blue brindle girl who wants nothing more than to cuddle and play with you! She is a shy homebody who's still trying to like the car and needs some patience to be introduced to new people and situations.

She loves to run in the yard, snuggle, and chew on nylabones. She is housetrained (with a bell!), loves her crate, and knows several commands. Janis is very loyal and loving to her family. She loves water and will even join you in the shower if you aren't careful to close the door! She is very patient, food motivated, and easy to train.

Janis has been blind in one eye from birth, but that has never slowed her down!

Photos and videos of Janis (and her brother Jimi, who is happily adopted)

Janis was fostered by us as a puppy, then returned as a 7 month old due to issues with self-confidence and fear. After spending some time with us, she has re-gained her confidence and is ready to move onto her permanent home!

Janis requires an adopter who is experienced with dogs who need time to warm up to new people and situations. She should be an only dog or placed with a tolerant and self-confident large dog. She has shown a little too much interest in cats, and cannot be placed in a home with cats or small dogs.

Please fill out an adoption application for Janis if you can give her the happy home she deserves!

About PetPromise, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

PetPromise is an Ohio 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization made up of volunteers who are dedicated to creating a world where there are no more homeless pets through education, rescue, sterilization, and adoption.

PetPromise rescues animals from high-kill animal shelters and provides foster care, medical care, and rehabilitation to once homeless, neglected, or abused dogs and cats as well as adoption services so that these pets may find loving permanent homes.

Through our City Kitty Program, PetPromise works with feral cat caregivers to control feral cat populations in central Ohio through trap/neuter/return. , PetPromise provides rabies vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and offers the use of humane traps when needed.

The PetPromise Pet Food Pantry provides temporary assistance in the form of cat and dog food free of charge to caretakers of feral cat colonies and pet owners who are experiencing economic hardship.

The founders of PetPromise began rescuing and finding homes for stray cats and dogs in 1996. The founders along with a network of other people interested in the welfare of homeless companion animals formed PetPromise in 1999. PetPromise was officially incorporated on February 4, 2000.

Our Adoption Process...

PetPromise volunteers do their best to ensure that all of the PetPromise pets and their new owners are the perfect match. For that reason the adoption process may take several days to complete. We do our best to ensure that the adoption of the pet is "for life."

If you are interested in adopting a particular pet, please complete an online adoption application at http://petpromise.org/adoption-application. We conduct reference checks and require a home visit before any adoption. The adoption fee varies by pet.
