Susie's Story...
Here comes a sneaky thief to steal your heart - Susie! Susie may look sweet and innocent, but under that adorable puppy face lurks a calculating mind that knows the quickest way to get a loving new home is the best girl in the world! Susie came to ACL after she was left in a car during a very hot day - the police swooped in to save the day because they realized that even with the windows cracked, a puppy like her could quickly overheat in a sunny car. Susie was never reclaimed by her owners, but we're happy to set her up with the perfect fit for her forever. Susie is 6 months old and quite petite - she'll likely grow into a smaller adult dog. She's a lab/AmStaff mix, and she's the best of both worlds - she's goofy and wiggly like an AmStaff and easygoing like a Lab. Susie is already on her way to housetraining, and she loves everyone and everything she meets. She's at the perfect age to go to training class or learn the ropes in a new home! She is definitely still a puppy, so Susie would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time to play with her, snuggle her, and train her. She's an ideal family pet for families with children, other dogs, and probably even cats. This Heart Thief won't last long - get in here before someone else steals her!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Susie, a Oak Park Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
