Sunny's Story...
It's always a Sunny day with this guy around! Sunny is a 1.5 year old Lab mix rescue dog, who came from our sister group in Mexico and is now in foster care near Victoria BC. This big happy boy gets along quite well with other dogs, but isn't a big fan of the felines. A cuddly boy, he enjoys a good snuggle after long walks or nice hikes. He also is always up to enjoy a game of fetch. He weighs 78 pounds and is neutered, dewormed, and up to date on vaccines. Sunny will be best suited for a family with older children (12+) who are active and want a doggy companion for outings and at home. Sunny is receiving free transition boarding by Pet Pampering, an alternative boarding and daycare on the Saanich Peninsula. Where social dogs have too much fun! If you are interested in adopting Sunny, please email info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunny, a Victoria Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Victoria, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Victoria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Victoria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Victoria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Victoria paves the way for another one to be saved.
