Facts about Lady

  • Breed: Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Brindle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Lady wandered up to a home way out in the country, with no tags or collar and when scanned, no microchip. She appears to be an older girl. I have a feeling someone had no use for her as a hunting hound and disposed of her. She is extremely nervous, and will need someone with lots of patience and a soft voice and kind hands to earn her trust. We just now got a collar on her. She needs to get settled into a forever home where she can be worked with someone she will be with forever. She is a stunning dog, and you can tell she wants to be loved, and wants to give love. She just needs encouragement. We will fully vet her, once an adopter is approved.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt or foster, we require that you fill out a very short application, completely and thoroughly. Incomplete applications are an instant rejection. You will then receive a phone call from one of our adoption coordinators, who will go over the application as well as ask some more in depth questions. Typically, a meet & greet is scheduled (if choosing to adopt) with the dog that adopter is interested in, preferably done in the adopters home so a home check can be done as well by coordinator, and go over our adoption agreement. If the adopter is ready, and coordinator has approval from director, they may begin their two week trial period that day, or on an agreed date, in which half of the adoption fee is due. Should the adopter decide anytime during that two week time period that they do not want the dog, they may contact the coordinator who will promptly pick up the dog and refund the money paid, unless another dog is requested. Once the two week trial period is over, the adoption coordinator will return with adoption form, sign the paperwork and collect the other half of the adoption fee. A printed, frameable adoption certificate will then be mailed to the adopters. Adoption fees for fully vetted, heartworm negative, altered dogs is $125. Puppies under 6 months old are $80 and it is the responsibility of the adopter to alter the dog no more then one month after the dog has become of age to be altered.
