Facts about Tea

  • Breed: Domestic Longhair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Long
DOB March 24, 2005.

Tea has come a long way since first arriving in our home. Now she is a friendly happy cat who runs to meet you at the door and loves to jump on your lap and be brushed.

Tea had a difficult transition; she was aggressive and angry when she first arrived and did not like to be touched. With a lot of time and patience she has become a very lovable cat. She is now very friendly and playful and happy to show affection all the time. She loves to rub against your leg and is friendly to new faces. Occasionally Tea gets grumpy, but she has learned to let us know when she’s angry before scratching or acting out. Sometimes she just wants to be left alone but she has learned to communicate that without resorting aggression. Tea is wonderfully friendly the vast majority of the time.

Tea requires someone who will have the patience to work with her and learn her cues. You will be rewarded with a loving cat who has become a pleasure to have around!

Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated versus our standard adoption fee of $175.

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $100 per cat vs. $175 per cat.
