Facts about Bugsy Malone KY

  • Breed: Boston Terrier
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9954801

Bugsy is a brindle purebred male neutered boston who is ten years young and weighs about 22 lbs.

Bugsy was surrendered to rescue when his family's schedule became too busy to care for him.  Thankfully, they found BTRET and got him the help he needed. Due to some neglect, Bugsy has a few teeth missing so he prefers dog food and treats that are small bite or soft. Bugsy is also on preventative eye medicine for cataracts.  He doesn't mind it at all and is a very cooperative patient.

Bugsy has a lot of energy and loves to play tug and chase balls with his foster brother and humans.  His favorite thing is to snuggle and cuddle with his people. Bugsy enjoys short walks and naps in your lap (he does snore a little).

Bugsy can be very protective and sometimes jealous of other dogs, especially BIG ones.  He would probably enjoy being an only dog or a brother to another small dog.

He loves children who are 4 and up and dog savvy but would not do well with toddlers. Bugsy also knows simple commands like 'sit' and 'leave it'.

Bugsy is UTD on all shots.  He is heart worm negative, neutered, and micro-chipped. He is also potty trained and crate trained(if coaxed in with a treat).   He does have small cataracts like many Bostons and has a corneal edema in his left eye. He receives an inexpensive sodium chloride cream three times a day.

Overall, Bugsy is just a bundle of love and snuggles who can't wait to find his forever home!

If you want to talk about me, please contact my foster family at the

Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee, Kentucky Region

Email me at: BTRETky@gmail.com and a foster momma or daddy will get back with you as soon as possible.

Keep in mind this is the general mailbox for the entire KY Region.

Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions.

The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website

Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma.

We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them.

Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.

About Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee

About Our Rescue Group...

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers of our own for many years, we are familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fees generally range from $400 for pups and up, to usually four years, $275 for adults, usually $200 when we have a mixed breed Boston.

The fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying when required, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "slow kill", a monthly prevention program for heartworms, treatment for other parasites, any other vet visits or urgent medical attention required, and supplies to foster homes. It is our expectation & requirement that these same preventative routine medications be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.
