Sunny is getting into the Christmas spirit! This precious girl would love to find her forever home for the holidays! Sunny is a mostly weim girl (with a dash of lab!) who is about 2 years old. Sunny loves to play with other dogs, go on walks, and has very good house manners. She's also crate trained. In short, Sunny is a wonderful girl!!! If interested in adopting Sunny, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

WANTED: Active, adventurous family with a playful pup! Sunny is a lively young girl who is up for a good time and LOVES to romp with other dogs. She's also big fan of snuggling, too! Sunny is EXCEPTIONALLY smart, eager to please, has good house manners and is as happy her name sounds. Sunny is a weim/lab mix; her coat is a little longer than a weim's and she has a full tail. Sunny is a high energy girl who needs a family that will give her the exercise and activity that she needs. If interested in adopting Sunny, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

That moment when you find an unknown dog lurking in your bathroom.... Sunny was on high alert and ready to protect her foster family when she discovered a dog hiding out in her foster mom's bathroom. Sweet Sunny continues to be the best girl ever in her foster home. Sunny wants a forever home where she has another dog to play with and a family to be active with her. If interested in adopting Sunny, please submit an application for adoption at www.weimrescue.com.

SUNNY went to her foster home yesterday! And, from the looks of this video, she and her foster brother are going to have the best time ever! Sunny is a very HAPPY, very sweet girl who is about 2 years old. Sunny has a beautiful full tail and is probably mostly weim with a little bit of lab thrown in. We can't wait to get updates from her foster family on her progress! If interested in adopting Sunny, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

WRS has several young, happy, healthy, FUN weims available for adoption! Here is a video of two of our pretty girls, Jenna Faye (docked tail) and Sunny (full tail, weim/lab mix). Both are about 2-2.5 years old and sweet, sweet girls! Both need work with their manners training (they just get so excited!) but both are eager to please and smart girls. Sunny is the more easy going of the two and would make a great addition to an active family. Jenna Faye is a little more strong willed and will need a family without young children and with someone who has breed experience. Both girls need homes with fenced in yards so they can run and play safely! If interested in fostering or adopting either girl, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Our beautiful Sunny is an absolute rock star! She's passed the one week mark in her heartworm treatment and doing great. Sunny should be ready for a foster or forever home in about 3 weeks. Sunny is a young adult female, probably no more than 2 years old. Most likely, Sunny is a weim/lab mix but she is most definitely a fantastic girl. Sunny is always happy, always affectionate, and always living up to her name! If interested in fostering or adopting Sunny, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Sweet Sunny spent a lovely, relaxing afternoon with one of our volunteers yesterday. Sunny is a FANTASTIC girl; she's most likely a weim/silver lab mix with a great personality and beautiful looks. Sunny will be ready for adoption in about 6 weeks; she will be starting her heartworm treatment in two weeks. Sunny is about 1-2 years old and will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family. If interested in adopting Sunny, please submit an application for adoption at www.weimrescue.com.

Please welcome Sunny to WRS! Sunny may be a weim, she may be a silver lab, she may be a weim/silver lab mix; we don't really know. What we do know is that this young female is adorable, about 1-2 years old, heartworm positive, and desperately needed our help as she was an unclaimed stray in an Alabama shelter. Sunny weighs in at 60lbs and is very sweet and affectionate. She will be treated for her heartworms and then she will be available for fostering or adoption. If interested in Sunny, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com. Sunny is our 19th rescue of the year and WRS has committed to three more dogs coming in over the next few days. We are completely full and will have to turn away dogs until we can move some dogs out of boarding and into foster or forever homes. If you have ever considered fostering, now is a great time!

About Weimaraner Rescue of the South

About Our Rescue Group...

Weimaraner Rescue of the South (WRS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving Weimaraners in need in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia and placing them into loving forever homes. We have been saving Weimaraners throughout our footprint for more than 10 years.

Our priority is to rescue Weimaraners who find themselves in animal controls and high-kill shelters in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia. All Weimaraners in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical issues they might have including but not limited to heartworm disease, orthopedic concerns, and vision issues. Our efforts are funded by adoption fees and donations from "Weim-loving" people like you.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are not a shelter, therefore, we are not in one central location. We place our dogs in loving foster homes throughout the deep South so we can learn about each one enabling us to adopt them to their perfect family. Alabama hosts the majority of our rescues although we do have foster homes throughout our Southern footprint. Our dogs are not available for visitors unless an adoption application has been approved for them specifically.

Our Adoption Process...

Are you ready to adopt? Make sure you do your homework on this breed before taking this step as this is not the breed for the average household and you must be committed to their needs as well as your own. Still want to add a Weimaraner to your family? Great! Fill out a WRS Adoption Application to begin the adoption process with us. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers to begin the approval process which includes a veterinary background check, phone interview, and home visit.

ADOPTION FEES: EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2016 OUR ADOPTION FEE FOR PUPPIES 6 MONTHS AND YOUNGER IS $375 WITH A $100 REFUNDABLE SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, $300 FOR ADULT WEIMARANERS, SENIORS AND MIXED BREEDS $225. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, and Heartworm prevention. All dogs have been fully vetted and treated for any medical issues of which we are aware.
