Estrella is a longhaired, calico female born in 2015. She is very sweet, gentle and friendly. She was pulled from a local shelter with her young kitten Carina, and has since raised her own kitten, as well as a couple of orphans. She can be very curious, but can easily be overwhelmed in unfamiliar situations. She has tested positive for FIV, however, she is currently asymptomatic. FIV positive cats could live many years before showing symptoms- it is impossible to tell how long they will go, some go their entire lives without succumbing to the virus. FIV positive cats can live with non-positive cats so long as they are in a socially stable situation as the main route of exposure is through deep bite wounds. Estrella is very gentle, and is certainly not a fighter, when threatened she tends to hide rather than defend herself. She needs an inside home to reduce her exposure to contagious and opportunistic infections. Feel free to contact us to discuss whether your home would be suitable for Estrella, she has been with us since March 2015.
