My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy is a very loving middle-aged beagle who adores attention from everyone she meets! She is happiest when she is getting atention, and likes to sit right next to her people or on their lap.

Missy is fairly low energy, and as much as she loves snuggling, she never licks faces. However, she is completely alert to any opportunities for food, and becomes quite lively in her ardent pursuit of any possibilities for a snack. As a result, Missy is currently a bit plump, but some attention to portion control and some extra walks should help her get to a healthier weight.

There are cats and other dogs in Missy’s foster home, and she gets along with all of them. but she would also be fine as a spoiled only dog. Missy is fed in a crate in order to keep other dogs from stealing her food (and vice versa), but she starts barking to come out when done eating, and she really doesn’t like being crated. During the day, Missy has run of the house, and so far that has worked well. Missy is very well house trained and currently goes outside in a fenced yard, but her previous home did not have a fence, and she did well with a tie-out for potty breaks.

Missy’s ideal home would be a family who will truly take time to return her affection and hopefully spoil her a little. She would make a wonderful companion for a less active family with lots of lap time, and she would also do well with a more active family if they make time to include Missy in their life during the time they spend at home.
