My name is Zara and I am not sure where to begin because my life has been a roller coaster but what I do want to say first is that I live for the moment and do not dwell on the past. You see, I was living in deplorable conditions with many dogs where I had numerous litters of puppies and my health was declining day after day. Finally, someone spoke up for us and we were taken away from that bad home and to a very fine and friendly shelter where we received yummy food, a warm bed and the vet care we needed to help us feel better. I then went to the hospital for a little while because I had lost so much weight that the people caring for me were scared I would die. Little did they know that I am a very resilient little lady, have a strong will to live and lots of love to give. I had lost so much weight as a result of untreated diabetes. I am recovering very well now with the proper care, insulin and diet. I've gained about 10 pounds and feel sooooo much better. I get along with other dogs and really would like a quiet home with maybe one or two other dogs who are low key. I'm a Pug Beagle mix and have the cutest underbite. If I seem like the kind of girl you would love to hang out with, please go to www.allmuttsmatter.org and fill out a foster or adoption application. Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope to hear from you soon. Luv, Zara.
Our adoption process is below:
1. The application will be processed, evaluated and we will contact the vet and personal references;
2. All other applications that have been submitted on Zara will also be processed (best suited applicant is chosen, not first come first serve);
3. Schedule a home visit; and
4. Adoption finalized when the best-fitting home is found. Our adoption fee for Zara is $250.00.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
