My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Earl is looking for a home in St. Louis, Missouri.

Here's a handsome lad who's quite complex. We saved his life when he was on death row at a rural animal control-- now he needs somebody empathetic and cat-savvy to take him the rest of the way into a golden future.

Earl longs for his very own human friend, and his own lap, but he can get overstimulated. He's so thirsty for love and affection that he sometimes gets carried away and nips.

Estimated to be three years old, Earl's complexities have already caused him trouble. He bit his foster mom's friend when another cat strolled too close. He longs for attention so much that a few times he chased after foster mom and nipped when she was leaving the room. We believe he would be less stimulated and more consistently gentle if he was in a home with no other cats. He will also do best in a home with no small children.

He's an enigmatic guy who you have to work to understand. But there's definitely a cat in there who yearns to love you.. In fact, Earl can be quite passionate, laying in your arms and purring. If only he lived in a setting with fewer cats, one where he felt safe enough to let his gentle spirit shone through all the time.
