Joey's Story...
This handsome little guy is Joey, a 2 year old orange tiger that is hoping to find out what having a real home and family is like. Joey came to us as a stray and he was so scared and standoffish that he was thought to be feral initially. But when Joey had the chance to run from his caretaker, he reached for him instead. He showed that he wanted to make friends and relax, so his caretaker began working with him. Joey came a long way in just a few weeks and now enjoys getting attention. If you are gentle and calm with Joey, he'll just love you. He is still shy at first but just give him a little time and he'll be purring and reaching for you too. He is sweet and gentle and ready to make some more friends. Joey seems to like other cats and would love a home with a patient family that will give him the time and support to settle in on his own terms. Once he does, Joey will be your best friends for life. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joey, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
