Bingo was adopted from us once and nipped at the person who tried to make him go in his crate and when they woke him to make him get off the couch. He shouldn't be allowed to get up on the furniture because he tends to get possessive of his area. Bingo doesn't have a lot of confidence and his new family should be dog experienced. His new family will be required to take him to obedience classes....they will benefit him and the family!!!!
We took Bingo to a dog behaviorist/trainer and this is the group and their evaluation.....Evaluation from D.O.G. - Bingo: Upon meeting him he seemed a bit stressed from the car ride. He was a bit timid but approached quickly, and politely. He very calmly placed his feet on me as he solicited attention. I was able to pet him, and watch him relax a bit as he explored the room. After discussing the bite history, and situations I feel he needs to go to a home without young kids. I would also recommend him to go to a home with dog experience, and that generally has a calmer living environment. He has similar characteristics of many beagles I have worked with in the past. He is a bit more uncomfortable then the average dog at being picked up, and sounds like he may have resource guarded in the past. New home should make plans to take an obedience class within a few weeks of adopting as well as educate themselves on resource guarding and how to prevent. As it is not 100% confirmed that he was actually resource guarding in the past I feel preventative measures are better from the start.
Bingo had a rough life before coming to Furry Kids. A Good Samaritan witnessed him being thrown from a moving car. He was taken to a vet and checked out and fortunately wasn't hurt. They then asked Furry Kids for help in finding him a new home. When our vet checked him over, they told us they felt that he had been kicked because his wee-wee was broken. They had never seen that before! Anyway, he was unable to urinate the normal way boy dogs do and they did surgery to help him. He can now go to the bathroom normally , without any issues.
Bingo is a beautiful Beagle with the bright colored markings. He is such a sweet little guy who needs a patient, loving family to help him build his confidence and become the wonderful companion he is meant to be. He does well with dogs his size and a little smaller but he doesn't like larger ones.
Bingo has been through so much and through all of it is such a sweet little boy that just wants to be loved! He has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Bingo, please fill out an adoption application located at www.furrykidgsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
