Ace is about 8 months old as of 8/01/16 and weighs 46 pounds. He is about full grown. He is smart, playful, and is used to being with a family. He follows simple commands, sit and stay. He would be easily trained. He is very friendly and loves everyone he meets. He has a calm personality for a lab mix, extremely friendly and would make a great family dog. Ace is entering the Paws in Prison Program on 11/2/16 for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will graduate the end of December., He will be house trained, crate trained, leash trained and will learn some tricks too. About Our Shelter...

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 8 individuals and various committees that handle the day to day operations. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.

Our Adoption Process...

We charge a $100 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats. To make application to adopt a pet you will need to go to our website schspets.org and complete an online application and someone will call you to discuss adoption process and to make an appointment to visit our kennels and cat cottage.
